Analytik Jena Receives Award as Family-friendly Company
Analytic measuring technology manufacturer awarded the “Jena Family Seal 2012“, an initiative of the Jena Alliance for Family
Jena, May 16, 2012 – Yesterday afternoon, Analytik Jena AG was awarded this year’s “Jena Family Seal” for its family-friendly and socially oriented corporate policies. The seal, an initiative of the Jena Alliance for Family and the Society for the Promotion of a Family-Friendly Jena, is awarded every two years. The jury that made the decision on awarding the seal for 2012 included the Lord Mayor of Jena, Albrecht Schröter, the Rector of FSU Jena, Prof. Klaus Dicke, and the Managing Director of the economic development organization Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Jena mbH, Wilfried Röpke.
“Right from the start, a key element of Analytik Jena’s philosophy has been to combine family-friendly corporate policies and economic success. No company can be successful in the long run without the commitment of its employees. With this in mind, we promote a family-friendly working environment at Analytik Jena,“ says Klaus Berka, CEO of Analytik Jena AG.
The Jena-based company, which employs around 400 staff at its headquarters and around 800 worldwide, has for many years been offering its employees far-reaching terms allowing them to establish a better balance between their career and their family life. For instance, employees with young children can choose to enter into flexible part-time models or agreements for working from home. In addition, employees can also take advantage of kindergarten places at the cooperating Regenbogen daycare center. Analytik Jena supports its employees’ children in their orientation phase, for instance by offering internships, holiday jobs and specific training. Parents-to-be are offered a range of advice as well as subsidies for childcare costs, and extensive support is also provided for older employees.
“Our employees have always had a strong sense of attachment to the company. We encourage this sense of solidarity with annual family celebrations and a large number of joint after-work events. In addition, our sponsorship strategy focuses in particular on social involvement and this way we fulfill our responsibility in the region,“ continues Berka.
