50th SPECORD® Anniversary Celebrated in Moscow
Moscow (Russia), December, 16, 2013 — On November 12, 2013, Analytik Jena customers and partners of all ranks from all regions of Russia and CIS have gathered together in Zelinskiy Institute of Organic Chemistry to celebrate the 50th anniversary of SPECORD®.
The event started with a seminar devoted to spectrophotometry and atomic absorption. Much interest was aroused by the presentations of such renowned scientists as Dr. Pupyshev, professor of Ural Federal University, and Dr. Zakharov, associated professor of Kazan Federal University.
The highlight of the event was the closing of the “SPECORD® Wanted!” campaign, held in Russia, and awarding of the oldest SPECORD® owner. The award went to Nesmeyanov Research Institute of Organoelement Compounds, based in Moscow, where a 42 year old SPECORD® UV/Vis had been found! Mr. Dzvonkovskiy – a chemist from the Nesmeyanov Research Institute – received a SPECORD® 50 PLUS, an instrument from the most recent series by Analytik Jena AG, for his laboratory.
The award ceremony was followed by a reception which could not do without a festive cake, made in the shape of a SPECORD® 50 PLUS. The cake cutting ceremony was conducted by the host of the reception, Mr. Hans-Georg Tiede, Senior Sales Manager Analytical Instrumentation of Analytik Jena AG.
However the Anniversary year is not over yet and another campaign is in full swing – the “Trade-in”. Users of old spectrophotometers are invited to purchase a new SPECORD® with a discount equal to the age of their old instument.
