Healthy Incoming Order Situation for Analytik Jena in the Summer Months
Jena, August 8, 2012 – Analytik Jena AG has received a healthy number of incoming orders in its core business of Analytical Instrumentation and in the growth segment of Life Science, exceeding last-year’s figures. Two major orders for delivery of analytical instrumentation to China and of products for automated nucleic acid purification for a laboratory well-positioned on the market in Germany have contributed to this. Both orders will also result in follow-up business for the upcoming financial year.
For the Chinese market, Analytik Jena will be delivering a total of 14 atomic absorption spectrometers to a leading regional food manufacturer based in Beijing for analysis of heavy metals such as cadmium and lead, primarily in dairy products, by September 2012. The devices are to be used at all the group’s locations throughout China and ensure production-standard product quality.
"In its established field of conventional analytical instrumentation, Analytik Jena is already market leader in several product areas in China, where it is also one of the most important and in-demand providers of instruments in this segment as a result of its quality standards", said Klaus Berka, CEO of Analytik Jena AG.
In the context of an order for the Life Science unit, Analytik Jena is supplying several devices for automatic nucleic acid purification at one of the biggest international laboratory service providers.
"We are pleased to have gained this project, with a volume in the low six-digit range, against strong competitors. The order is particularly attractive for the Life Science unit because of the follow-up business with reagents and disposable consumables", added Berka.
