Jena, August 19, 2010 — Analytik Jena AG has won two orders for the delivery to China of 20 atom absorption spectrometry devices.

A total of nine ZEEnit 700 devices are to be deployed as part of a project for the quality control of agricultural products under the aegis of the Jilin Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Jilin is a province in North East China known for its heavy industry and agriculture.
Another order for 11 contrAA® 700 devices has been placed by the China National Materials Group Corporation (SINOMA), a state-managed enterprise that is one of China's leading groups in the non-metalworking sector.

"In the area of atom absorption spectrometry, Analytik Jena is one of the world's technological leaders with decades of experience in spectrometer development," said Klaus Berka, CEO of Analytik Jena AG. "What is especially interesting is that contrAA® is the first representative of a new generation of systems for AAS with a degree of innovation that to date remains unsurpassed. This gives us an important competitive advantage in large growth markets such as China, where we are one of the largest importers in this segment."

In the previous financial year 2008/2009, Analytik Jena generated sales of approximately EUR 10.0 m, making the People's Republic one of the company's largest export markets.
