Analytik Jena Lands its Biggest Order to Date in Life Science Segment

Jena, April 18, 2011 — The Life Science segment of Analytik Jena AG has landed its biggest ever single order in Germany. Under the order the company's Göttingen-based subsidiary Biometra is to deliver a total of 33 high-quality thermocyclers with a value of approx. EUR 0.25 million.

"We are delighted that we have secured this important order in Germany, our home market. This very large order for the Life Science division is a positive signal for us and our shareholders in the run-up to the Annual General Meeting," said Klaus Berka, CEO of Analytik Jena AG. "We see particularly high growth potential in this young Life Science division with its innovative products."

The thermocyclers ? DNA amplification platforms designed especially for biomedical and pharmaceutical research applications ? are to be delivered in two batches by January 2012. Biometra GmbH, acquired by Analytik Jena in May 2009 and now fully integrated into the structures of the Analytik Jena Life Science division, is one of the pioneers in the field of DNA polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technologies.

Analytik Jena AG is to hold its 11th Annual General Meeting on April 19, 2011 at company headquarters in Jena.
