Analytik Jena Donates Faculty Prizes at Friedrich Schiller University Jena
Jena, November 22, 2013 – Analytik Jena AG's cooperation with the Faculty of Chemistry & Geosciences of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena goes back many years. It was in this context that Analytik Jena, the Thuringian manufacturer of laboratory, bioanalytical and analytical measuring technology, in 2013 once more donated prize money totaling EUR 1,000 for two faculty awards.
Dr Anne März was awarded the EUR 750 prize for the best doctoral dissertation in Chemistry. Her research was focused on a special application of Raman spectroscopy in medical diagnosis. The exams prize, worth EUR 250, went to the chemist Sandro Heuke. With his final exams thesis on the "Classification of nonmelanocytic skin cancer using nonlinear microspectroscopy“, Heuke achieved the best final exams result of the past academic year.
On behalf of the company, Dr Alf Liebmann, Head of Product Department Optical Spectroscopy of the Analytical Instrumentation business unit at Analytik Jena AG, today presented the symbolic checks at this year's faculty graduation ceremony and congratulated the prize winners.
