Employees of Analytik Jena Organize Bake Sale on Behalf of Elterninitiative für krebskranke Kinder Jena
Jena, September 17, 2012 — Analytik Jena AG has supported the Elterninitiative für krebskranke Kinder Jena e.V. with a donation of EUR 500. The money was collected at a bake sale held especially for the association by the employees of the Jena-based manufacturer of laboratory, bioanalytical and analytical technology at the company’s annual employee summer and family celebration. Today, a corresponding check was handed over by the Chairman of the Executive Board of Analytik Jena AG, Klaus Berka, to the Chairwoman of the parents’ initiative, Sylvia Friedrich.
“It is very important to us to support the parents’ initiative and to draw attention to the hard work that it does. I personally am pleased that so many Analytik Jena employees took part,” said CEO Klaus Berka.
The Elterninitiative für krebskranke Kinder Jena e.V. is a drop-in center for families whose children are suffering from cancer and are receiving or have received treatment at the Klinik für Kinder und Jugendmedizin (Clinic for Pediatrics and Youth Medicine) of Jena University Hospital. The association provides help and support for children suffering from cancer and their families that go beyond the necessary medical treatment, focusing on emotional and social support.
“Without commitment and our many sponsors, we could not implement our projects. We are pleased about the support from Analytik Jena and are grateful for the commitment of so many of the company’s employees, through which they help to make the lives of numerous affected families that little bit easier,” said the Chairwoman of the parents’ initiative, Sylvia Friedrich.
